On October 7, 2006, the Witan Council of the Correllian Nativist
Tradition, voted to denounce Davron Michaels, aka, David Morrell. Mr.
Morrell is head of the Correllian Nativist Church International Inc.,
CNCI, which was the legal body of the Tradition until September 25, 2006.
Mr. Morrell also heads the Astral Light Temple in Albany , NY which had
its recognition from the Correllian Tradition. Mr. Morrell and all
groups he heads, as well as the for profit store, Magic Source, run by
Astral Light members, has been linked to Satanic groups and churches in
the Albany , NY area.

Proof of these allegations did lie on www.churchofsatan. org. The
“donations” and “gifts” buttons both link to www.magicksource. com
storefront which sells Correllian items. The “donations” button was
linked to all CNCI groups. The CNCI link has now been removed. Mr.
Morrell was also part of a Satanic “Meet-up” group in NY, but once it was
discovered, it was quickly removed. However, a Google search on “Davron
Michaels” rendered the following results:

Davron Michaels - NYC Satanists, Luciferians, Dark Pagans, and LHP ...

On September 25, 2006, Rev. Don Lewis, Chancellor of the Correllian
Nativist Tradition, resigned as a board member of the CNCI, citing a
difference of vision with the CNCI due to the creation of Mr. Morrell’s
new church, Universal Nativism and seminary, New Aeon, under the umbrella
of the CNCI, that did not have board approval. Rev. Lewis’ public
announcement went out to the Tradition’s Clergy Yahoo group and was also
published in the Daily Spell issue, September 28, 2006. At this time,
Mr. Morrell’s Satanic ties were unknown.

The Satanic ties were first discovered by a Tradition member on October
2nd. After further investigation, Rev. Traci Logan Wood, the
investigating Deemster for the Tradition, discovered the link between The
Church of Satan and Mr. Morrell’s temple. Upon this discovery, Rev.
Lewis convened the Witan Council on October 6th, which is made up of the
Temple Heads and the Elders of the Tradition. A public statement was
issued on October 7th.

The Correllian’s official position comes from Rev. Lewis stating “People
already think we are Satanist –it would be hard for even open-minded
people not to take this as confirmation of it.”

One of the members of the Witan Council wrote. ”Lastly, I need to further
explain why I am not at all comfortable with trying to combine Satanism
and Wicca. Although it is very true that I blend many beliefs from many
religions together, none of what I am blending has a conflict with the
"Harm none" rule. Satanism believes a person can do anything they want
for their personal benefit. If that harms someone else in any way that is
ok as long as they get what they want. I am very uncomfortable with that
and therefore find it inappropriate to mix the two.”

Rev. Lewis also said, “Please note that this is not to say that we
condemn Satanists as people, or even Correllians with individual ties to
Satanism, but rather that we reject either actual or apparent official
ties between Satanism and our Tradition itself, or its member bodies.
Individual choices in this matter are an issue of freedom of conscience,
but official ties appear to speak for all of us.”

Several members of the Tradition tried to reach Mr. Morrell for comment
but all attempts prior to the public statement were unsuccessful. But
the latest word from Rev. Wood is that she has talked to him and he does
not claim to be a Satanist. When question about why his name appears on
the Satanic groups, the response is that he is interested in meeting all
kinds of people.

Correllian Official Public Statement:

“That as Correllians we do not support the presence of Satanism in our
Tradition, and condemn any real or apparent connection between Satanism
and any group calling itself Correllian. Correllianism specifically and
explicitly rejects the mixing of Satanism and Wicca.

We regard Satanism as a movement wholly separate from our own. We do not
condemn Satanists as such –but we regard them as a wholly separate
movement not in sympathy with our own, and not in keeping with the Wiccan
Rede.

That in being so closely connected to the First Church of Satan, Davron
Michaels is in clear violation of the Tradition's stated beliefs, and
that this threatens the reputation of the Wiccan community as a whole,
which has worked so very hard to avoid the unjust label of "Satanist".

And that Davron Michaels hid these actions from his fellow Temple Heads
and Correllian Elders who never had any knowledge of this and would not
have approved. That in doing these things while in a position of
exceptional authority he has abused his position and the respect and
honors we granted him.

We regard that in doing these things Davron Michaels has broken his
Priestly oaths to the Tradition and its leadership -oaths specifically
sworn to the Correllian Tradition as defined by the leadership of the
Witan and Council of Elders, and by the Correllian lineage, not to the
CNCI which did not at that time exist at the time Davron became a
Correllian Priest. And that he has thus become foresworn, or 'Warlocked'
for use of a better term.

For those who may be unfamiliar with the use of the term, a `Warlock' is
one who has broken his Priestly oaths.

That Astral Light has forfeited its position as a Temple of the
Correllian Tradition by order of the Council of Elders. And that if the
members of Astral Light wish to remain in the Correllian Tradition, they
must also denounce the Satanic ties that their Temple Head Davron
Michaels has created, and reapply for membership.

It is the will of the Witan Council and Correllian Council of Elders that
Davron Michaels be removed from our Tradition forfeiting all status
formerly held therein –to whit Elder, Temple Head, High Priest, member-
and regarded hereafter as a Warlock. As a Warlock, we must ask those who
remain true to the Correllian Tradition -as defined by the leadership of
the Witan and the Council of Elders, and by the Correllian lineage- to
avoid further contact with Davron Michaels, and to eschew events he hosts
or at which he appears. In this we also ask the support of other
Traditions. If you wish to continue to support Davron Michaels, it will
not be possible for you to attend any further Correllian event, circle,
or receive any form
of blessing or ritual on your behalf.

It is our will that all other Wiccan and Pagan Traditions be notified of
the actions of Davron Michaels, aka David Morrell, and that he has been
removed from the Correllian Tradition Book of Life and named a Warlock as
soon as possible to prevent further tragedy.

We regret deeply this chain of events.

We will continue this investigation and have named Rt. Rev. Traci Logan
Wood as Chief Investigating Deemster. If you have any further information
which is pertinent to this matter, please contact your Temple Head ,
local Priest/ess, or contact Lady Traci directly.”

Blessings to all,

M. Rev. Donald Lewis
