Post by bluhave perfect pitch, in fact,
Y'know, I've been a keyboardist all my life
and I've always had a certain understanding of
just what perfect pitch is.
I bought a theremin last year from Moog, to further train myself
with what talents I have.
I can hear myself (unlike many singers),
and I can sing on key..
I can reproduce any melody after hearing it just once.
I can 'find' the key a note was played in, but only in the same way
software does, by doing a ranging test and comparison.
But if you play a note while my back is turned, I will not be able to
verbally tell you what note it was by its letter designation.
If you let me have a keyboard, I'll tell you what note it was,
but usually not without playing a different note first, and then the
same note, and then reading its letter designation from the keyboard.
Sometimes I'll be able to tell you what note it was without the second
stroke, but that will have an error probability. If I play the note, I
will never be wrong.
But that's not really perfect pitch, in my book.
Perfect pitch, according to my understanding,
is the ability to play the right note on the
first stroke, every time. Even after listening
to some other music.
I can't do that.

IN flonkers fields the poopies blow
Between the networks glowin' show,
That mark our place; and in the net
The sharks, still bravely singing, bet
Scarce heard amid the huns below.
We are the Read. Short days ago
We walked, felt dawn, waxed sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In flonkers fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The blog; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who fry
We shall not sleep, though poopies blow
In flonkers fields.
